Tas: Search fails to find missing woman
An extensive police search has failed to uncover clues into the disappearance of a35-year-old woman last seen wading at a beach in southern Tasmania.
Police say the woman went missing from a beach on the lower estuary of the Huon Riverat Lymington, near Cygnet, about 5pm (AEST) yesterday.
Today's nine-hour search, involving State Emergency Service personnel, police diversand four vessels, covered most of the estuary and shoreline.
Sergeant MICHEAL HUGHES says strong winds, rain and rough seas made the search effort difficult.
Police don't suspect any suspicious circumstances in the woman's disappearance andwill resume the search tomorrow morning.
